A new EP release from The Beautiful Mistakes gives off a classic rock vibe with elements of southern-touched Americana and is all delivered with plenty of heart and a unique energy that makes it feel like everything was recorded live on the floor which makes for quite an infectious soundscape from the get-go.
The Love's Never Wasted EP is clearly performed, created, and written by a group of people who have a pure love for their craft because that element is the strongest one and is literally always there lending the band truly thrive in their own way.
The record has that certain energy where it feels like the players are feeding off of each other the entire time and whether or not the songs were actually recorded live on the floor or not, it makes you want to see this band live because if the energy is that good on the recording, then seeing them in your face must be awesome.
The tracks come through lush instrumentation wise with organs flooding the backing of most of them giving them this full-bodied Rock experience while it still has this roots undertone that sticks throughout the records' play through.
One of the things I really enjoyed about this release is that each track here gives a little bit of a different feel especially musically and rhythm wise and with that you still have the feeling that the songs connect to each other in a strange way almost like this is a concept record of sorts.
Of course, I may be wrong about the whole concept record thing, but it just feels that way when you're listening to the EP.
There are more than a few singles on this release that stand very well on their own two feet however, having said that, listening to the record as a whole is a much better way to go in this case.
There's not much cookie-cutter songwriting going on here and there are layers that can be peeled back in terms of the full ep so listening to it in full is the way to soak it in or at least it feels like that's the way it was meant to be listened to.
This is definitely one of those records I wish I had on vinyl because I would like to have lyrics for each song, look at more pictures, and just kind of hang back and have something to hold on to while I listen to the record.
Of course, that could be just the old school in me.
But again, this release does have a very heavy classic rock vibe, especially in the guitar tones even while those elements of Americana are there.
Like I said earlier, this record has a lot of heart and I think that's one of the things that gives it a bit more impact.
You feel like some of these songs came from real places and they give the album a little bit more life than usual.
Once again, one of the biggest things about this is not just the heart but the energy that's displayed on this recording.
You can tell everyone partaking in this musical endeavor is having a great time and that feeling is actually infectious.
This was a great release from a great band, and we are definitely going to be keeping an eye on them to see what they're releasing next.
You should definitely check these guys out we would give this at least an 8 out of 10 and that's being harsh.
