A Massive And Honest Release From Perfectly Still

A single release from Perfectly Still blends some of the best elements of hard-hitting metal, alternative rock, and even hardcore at times but also boasts an electronic rock undertone and this vastness that hits as wide as some of the riffs hit hard and it all comes together without a hitch.

"House of Rust" comes in with such a massive sonic presence and a sort of cinematic layer to it all done with an edgy approach keeping that heavy soundscape perfectly intact but giving it this sort of emotional drive and spacious tonality.

The guitar sections on this truck are outstanding and in a sort of beautiful way, the vocals and the guitars complement each other because together they give the song a lot of power.

The whole thing does have a little hint of almost a fantastical feel at times because it just comes through so massive, especially in that chorus section which is just anthemic.

There are some layers to be peeled back here but these guys have a way of providing such lush melody and impact in the song, but they are also not afraid to give you a super heavy breakdown in a dropped tuning.

You can tell that there was a lot of attention to detail during the creation of this song, but it never loses that heart or character the entire time and I think that may be the most important part of it all.

The energy is unbelievable as well and makes you want to see them live simply because of how it was all captured on record and after listening to this, you just know that seeing them live would be unreal.

This band truly has that, fists in the air, sing along to the melodic choruses, and then mosh to the breakdown sections style and I love it.

It gives you the best of these two different worlds and it all comes together with such a natural feel as well.

Anyone into almost any kind of heavy music whether it be alternative rock, heavy metal, melodic rock, or even grunge, would be into this track because these guys encompass so much in just one single it's crazy.

You can clearly tell these guys have the absolute love for their craft and I don't just mean the instruments they're playing; I mean songwriting together and creating something epic to be able to portray to the world.

All the music and vocals, melodies, riffs, tones, and everything else is so tight and well done with passion and a heavy hand, but the lyrics are really something because if you listen to the words, it's very personal and very honest.

This song speaks of inner struggles and fighting the good fight so to speak within yourself.

This is an incredibly relatable song and that I think, is why it has all that power and why it makes so much sense with the music.

All of this comes from someplace real and that's what makes the song So authentic and so genuine.

I feel like if I were the singer and lyricist, this would have been a cathartic experience for me and maybe it was for him.

I hope so because it's important to understand from the listener's point of view that this is the kind of song that can reach people and maybe make them feel like they're not alone in a time of inner struggle.

So, all in all this truck has a lot more impact then you might think and we need more music like this.

Music that speaks out and can be upfront, honest, and just genuine.

That's the kind of stuff that we relate to as human beings and that's what music was made for. Hell, that's what art is made for.

These guys did an outstanding job, and I would suggest checking this track out as soon as you get a chance. I'm giving it a 9 out of 10 hands down.
