A new single released from Swan brings out a killer combination of alternative rock with power and drive, and these hints of southern rock undertones that combined, create this particular rock atmosphere and the track comes through loaded with character and riffs that you just can't escape.
"Bad Blood" packs a hell of a punch and does so with style and just the right attitude as it brings together these booming, massive choruses with a heavy edge.
The track was mixed and mastered by Luke Palmer and features Ashcan Kairomi on vocals.
One of the things I love about this track is how surrounded by guitars you are throughout the whole thing, and it all comes together to create these melodies that do indeed hit those alternative rock backbones but also elements of a harder metal come into play at times along with a ridiculously outstanding guitar solo which is something that I've just missed in a lot of rock music.
It feels like this track came from someplace real in genuine and that he's singing about a situation and experience that he had personally which makes it a little bit more authentic as well.
You get that honesty along with the all killer no filler heavy-handed rock soundscape.
You can clearly tell this was created by an artist who has an actual love for his craft, and I don't just mean playing guitar which obviously came first and foremost.
What I mean is, the songwriting aspect of it all.
How it all comes together with such a high energy sound and how he's able to make that sound almost feel like a live performance because it's like the drums and the guitars and the vocals are all just feeding off of each other the entire time.
This is what gives the song that alive and breathing kind of feel.
It also boasts a little bit of a cinematic approach at times too like you can hear the song in a film for example.
This is probably because the song has a lot of action in it.
You can tell there was a lot of attention to detail in the creation of the song, but it never loses that impactful sort of heart that it begins with in the first place, and I think that may be the most important thing of it all.
The vocals just about match that guitar work in terms of the vibrancy and color that comes along with the edginess.
Swan is definitely the type of project that people into smart and well written but driving hard rock will love and upon listening to this angle I went back and listen to a previous one called "Sweat Baby Sweat" which also had some really good guitar work and riffs in it but felt a little bit more like grunge for a good amount of the time.
The songs are definitely catchy and certainly have the ability to hit all those sweet spots especially with "Bad Blood".
I'm no guitar player but I love the work on this track so I'm thinking that people that love to play guitar will definitely soak this in and really appreciate all the richness in the guitar work here.
But again, it's also about how the song is just a great Rock track and feels like a mix between current and in almost underground late '90s alternative rock feel.
This was a badass release and I'm giving it a 10 out of 10 straight up.
That's it. A hands down, from beginning to end thriving heavy rock banger.
Check this one out as soon as you can and turn it up.
