A New Single and Video from Arctic Wave

Arctic Wave returns with a new single and a music video to go right along with it, which provides both such a fun and realistic view of online dating. It's so amusing to watch that you can't help but get sort of attached to it.

"Where There's Smoke There's Fire" is a bit of a driving track but keeps to the projects contemporary undertones well by delivering this great color and lush instrumentation along with some great grooves that feel like they're influenced by classic and almost vintage pop approaches partially because of the synth sounds used on some of the sections of the song.

This was very danceable and very colorful as well but really, it's the lyrical content that shines here because it makes so much sense to any of us who have been in an online dating situation.

I feel like it's very relatable for those kinds of people and when you watch the video which is just as amusing as the song itself, you'll get an even better sense of what the premise of the song is really about.

I'm not giving everything away of course but it has a lot to do with the craziness of online dating, the scariness of it, the uncertainties of it, and also the semi-excitement of not knowing what will come next.

Arctic wave does an amazing job of portraying all that stuff in this one track and an even better job of portraying it in the music video that goes along with the song.

This was endlessly fun and had a great pop overtone that takes over and makes you want to move the couch back so you can dance around the living room to it.

There's also some great guitar work here bringing in a very sort of classic rock approach with harmonies and all kinds of cool stuff going on, this is also a bit of a staple of the projects sound.

You have an intro to the song that kind of builds and the intro part or really just the beginning of the song and whole first verse feels slightly more emotional not in a heavy sense but just in the sense that it comes from a more of a place of inner thought.

That is something that grows into a sort of pop soiree if you will and there are great bridges and musical surprises around the corners of this single. I feel like it does an outstanding job of showcasing the band's ability to create something that feels familiar but is still refreshing and also creates a personalized and semi humorous view of a subject that a lot of us have dealt with.

This was a fun single that is riddled with great character and when you watch the video everything is done so well. Not only the shots and cinematography, but the people that are acting in the video are amazing.

You can tell there was a lot of thought put into the detail of the release of this song in this video and how important the music video is as an arm of the track.

I love this because I feel like having those visuals really solidifies the entire song and Arctic Wave is the type of band that does a lot of focusing on the music video aspect of their single releases so that you really soak in the idea, the emotion, and the premise of what the songs are about.

I think a lot more bands should follow suit and do videos the way that they're doing them. So that they're not just bands playing in a warehouse. But more situations and scenarios that are acted out so that you can get a better grasp of the song's ideals.

This was very well done by all counts and showcases a band that is able to have fun with what they're doing and still put out something that makes complete sense, has a bit of emotional value, and really jams with great instrumentation and vocal approach.

Check out this video because it's the best way to listen to the song, especially for the first time you do it.

I guarantee you're going to love this and when you're done check out some other stuff from Arctic Wave.
