A new single release from Stefano Pesapane and Pearl Cutten delivers a warm and soulful approach that comes with a thick character that you end up getting yourself attached to pretty quickly and throughout its performance you get a lot of passion and this sort of vast undertone that has a way of engulfing you.
"Shadow of Love" draws inspiration from not only some ethereal tones but also from classic R&B performers and you can hear those influences throughout the course of the track both musically and vocally.
One of my favorite aspects about this track is the sheer energy that it captures during its playthrough. It feels like this was a recording of a live performance in a way and everyone was just feeding off of each other the entire time.
The energy is completely electric, and the song itself comes through with such a lush tonality and such a beautiful array of instrumentation that it's both colorful but also has this little hint of haunt in its underbelly as well. I love the passion delivered throughout the entire song by all parts and there was a lot of attention to detail during the creation of the song without question however, it never loses that heart or that soul that it begins with in the first place, and this just very well be the most important aspect of the entire thing.
This track came through impactful and powerful. It's got a certain kind of spirit to it and that kind of energy and aesthetic becomes very addictive.
You have a great element of flare to the song along with these jazz undertones and classic soul and pop undertones as well. All of this Blends together so the song ends up having a bit of a genre-bending feel but still feels like something familiar in a way. Like something you've been listening to on the radio for years now.
The vocal performance is really outstanding because of how intense it actually feels when you listen to it. This level of intensity fluctuates through the track but when it comes to those choruses, you can't help but feel that infectious vibe.
I think the power of this track comes from the fact that it feels completely authentic. This definitely came from someplace very real. You can tell that both Pearl and Stefano have a real love for their craft, and I don't just mean writing lyrics, performing vocals, composing, or producing, I mean doing it all together so that they can create music together that people can think and feel from.
I think it takes both talented composition and songwriting, and spot on production, the performances have to be on par, but the vocals and the words also have to be as intense as the music. Those energy levels have to match so that the song's aesthetic can come through with as much power as this one does.
Because of this, I'm very glad that Stefano and Pearl have found each other musically because this was definitely the right match.
As I mentioned a little earlier, there is definitely some classic influence here both musically and vocally and the song comes through very cinematic to me. However, when I say that I mean in the sense that you can hear this track in a 90s film for example.
This is something I truly did because the song does give me little bouts of nostalgia here and there and you can tell that the crossover of vintage and classic R&B, soul, and pop songwriting really works well because they bring it to a current platform.
Own all this was a gracefully performed track that has a lot of intricacies but comes through with soul and heart, personality and character.
Definitely take a listen to this track as soon as you can.
