A Personal Release from Andrew Spice

A single release from Andrew Spice brings out a refreshing breed of honesty in the form of a track that feels almost theatrical in a sense as it comes through with a robust and sort of emotional backbone but is also so incredibly relatable at the same time.

"High Park" is a song that gives you a piece of the artist. He displays so much personality and character throughout it that you really get attached to it all.

The track focuses on the piano as the main instrument. This gives it a little bit of a ballad feel at times but, it also has a bit of pop underbelly, especially in the songwriting and arrangement department. You can tell that Andrew has a lot of experience displaying a lot of those parts of himself but still keep a song catchy.

One of the things I love most about this track is how the descriptive lyrics can be something that you get engulfed in.

You can tell that this track came from someplace real. He's letting a lot of those inner thoughts spill out, especially when it comes to the chorus.

There's something so indulgent about this track. It's got this yearning behind it. Like a yearning for something new. For a change. And maybe that's really what the song is about. It's about the want for something different. Getting out of your bubble and experience something that makes you feel alive again.

That's part of my take on it but the beauty of this song is that each person may take it a little bit differently.

It does make you think about your own life in a way. At times it can make memories of your own even flash into your head at random, but I think that's a beautiful connection to make.

This is the kind of honesty and level of articulation that really makes this song impactful.

Just the thought of how we all crave new experiences or how sometimes we feel stuck and want to just find someplace new is something that attacks all of us at a certain point in life.

But not a lot of us know how to articulate that into words let alone words and music, so when we hear a song like this we connect and understand it.

For some of us, it may feel like we're alone in these kinds of thoughts until we hear a song like this, and we realize that a lot of other people get that feeling.

Andrew displays such an intense and beautiful way of expressing those inner thoughts and feelings so well that the song ends up feeling like it's just for you even though you know it isn't.

At the very least, the song seems like it could have served as the soundtrack to a chapter in your own life at some point.

The vocal performances are amazing. It's not over the top but it gets intense as the song grows. I love how the track musically and vocally builds up into that first chorus especially. How the way it's arranged makes it feel like it's breathing.

The layers of instrumentation and vocals build along with that intensity and the song ends up feeling warm.

To me, this was hugely cinematic in the sense that I can certainly see it in the scene of a film for example.

Again, it does have that vast sort of undertone.

The accompanying music video for this single is outstanding as well because it also shares a lot of personality and shows some of his presence as an artist as well.

You get multiple layers of creativity here and it's a lot to soak in so I suggest you do it by watching the music video first.

This was a gorgeous single with some layers and some depth behind it and for me, it was completely refreshing.

Check this track out and see what it does for you.
