A Rambunctious New Release from Erode The Dream

A new single release from Erode the Dream hits like a sucker punch to the gut. When I say that, I meet it in the best way humanly possible of course, as the track blends a wild and rambunctious energy and soundscape that takes hold of alternative, emo, punk, garage rock. So much more all rolled up into one fat and juicy song that boasts this endless wildness to it but that is part of what makes it so infectious.

"Becoming Ghosts" it's quite a ride and they certainly waste no time hitting you hard with a fierce guitar tone, slamming drums, and belting vocals but all of this also comes with a certain kind of vastness in the songs undertone that somehow sticks with it throughout its entire course.

What really wraps itself around you and keeps you right where it wants to, is that endless and electric energy because it feels like this whole thing was recorded live on the floor and everyone involved was just feeding off of each other the entire time giving the song this undeniable fire.

Even if I'm wrong about the whole live on the floor thing, listening to the track certainly makes you want to go see them perform it live simply because of this kind of energy was captured on record this well, then seeing it live much just be a face-melter.

One of the things I love about this track is the guitar work because it's so crazy and it's so steadily crazy throughout the entire track, but it helps glue everything together in a particular way. There are not just rhythm guitars but this kind of lead guitar stuff that is layered as well and this adds a certain kind of depth and edginess to the song.

Another really cool aspect about this track is the fact that it does have a lot of different kinds of hooks and those hooks are the parts that sort of bounce around in your head after the song ends which is really quite fun because the only way to satiate that is to go and listen to the song again.

This song hits like a blitzkrieg so when it ends you kind of want to just start it over again because you feel like you must have missed out on a few parts.

It's pretty fast moving, and every element of the song pushes the next. What I mean by that is the drumming for example, has a way of giving the song this massive drive so that everything is pushed forward and this in turn, lets the guitars go as wild as they are because that energy level is already super high, and everyone else follows suit.

I love the vocals here because they do have melody to them, but they're also just loud and belting and a little out of control but that's part of the whole garage rock, alternative fierceness of the track itself and I think it's going to be part of the staples sound of the band's upcoming EP from which this track will be a part of as far as I am understanding.

Now, I'm not exactly sure of the release date for the full EP just yet but I can tell you that if they're going to be more songs like this one then you better buckle in.

Hell, you better buckle in just for this one track alone.

I'm not even sure that rambunctious is a strong enough word to trying to describe what this track delivers but it sure delivers it without boundaries, and this is something I absolutely love about what these guys are doing.

This is a heavy rock release that shows character, charisma, personality, endless energy, and this fire and its underbelly that all come through in these great rock textures.

Apologizing into this track I checked out some more and the band has a few other releases that were dropped this year including a track called "Salt" that is also far more than noteworthy.

Either way, listen to this track loud because it's the best way to soak it in. Then, check out some of their previous releases because they're all so awesome and show little bits of different sides as to how they write their songs.

Dive into this one now and see what it does for you.
