A Sonically Driving Single from Infinity Broke

A new single release from Infinity Broke delivers a very robust and unique approach to an alternative rock soundscape that brings together elements of garage, grunge, and a full-bodied, lush percussion approach that livens things up and gives off a vibrant but edgy tonality.

"Abject Object" is a track that really has a beautiful way of growing as it unfolds. It starts off with a slightly haunting and grunge-style bass line and this great drumming that gives the song added depth and some drive.

The deeper you get into the track the more it starts to get edgy and build into something that has a more explosive soundscape with guitars that come in reeling and give off this awesome added texture to the song that not only gives it that vast sounding undertone but adds more depth to the soundscape of the entire thing.

I love the vocals on this track simply because they are alive and breathing. They feel animated and with this approach, it feels almost like the whole thing is a live performance.

This goes right along with the energy of the track as a whole. This song feels almost like it was actually recorded live in the moment, and everyone involved was just feeding off of each other's energies the entire time.

It's got such a fluctuation of intensities that come and go in waves, and it all presents something that gives you little bouts of nostalgia simply because it does have a little bit of that 90s underground alternative rock soundscape and feel at times and the aesthetic of that is completely nailed.

While they do this, they can bring in something refreshing and new that gives the song that robust vibe.

It's a combination of character, color, and edginess and completely thriving.

With the bass line and the percussion, along with vocals at the start of the song you get to soak in the vibe but, when the guitars come in the Sonic presence of the track starts emanating bigger and bigger.

The guitar performance on this track is so good. It's not anything intricate and they're not reinventing the wheel by any means but, taking these different influences and putting them together to create something with its own atmosphere.

This is an atmosphere you end up falling into and once you're there, you simply don't want to leave.

There are all kinds of trippy and experimental effects throughout the track, especially on the vocals which have this delay effect half the time, and towards the end of the track they push that past the envelope and end up presenting a slightly psychedelic approach.

I dig this because it's different. It is in no way cookie-cutter but instead, works outside the lines.

This is influenced by some classic styles of heavy rock but is created without walls built around it. It's a song with fewer boundaries than you may be used to.

It is its own thing and presents itself with an oozing personality in its own way.

After listening to this track, I took it upon myself to check out some previous releases. I'm certainly glad I did as the band does have a series of singles, small EPs, and full-length albums that all present slightly different approaches to songwriting.

This track is a perfect introduction to the soundscape of the project however, listening to some of the previous releases you get to delve into different layers and styles of how things are put together.

Some songs feel completely cinematic and widened with expansive feels and twangy guitars, wild and energetic, vivacious songs with a rambunctious underbelly, and so much more.

By listening through the catalog of this project you will really be able to soak in all the influences that come in and out of play which is an extremely fun thing to do.

I suggest listening to this stuff loud or even with headphones on so you can take in everything it has to offer.

Again, start with this track and then work your way back through the previous releases because it's quite an escape. These are the types of songs that can pull you away from wherever you are and whatever you are doing and put you in a different space.

Check this out as soon as you can and if you love garage rock, Indie and alternative, experimental, progressive, psychedelic rock, or even just outside-the-box style songwriting, this whole project is completely for you.

Dive in and see how it affects you.
