Alison Newman Delivers a Spirited Single

A single release from Alison Newman delivers quite a spirited and sort of uplifting approach and mentality in the form of a soul driven and almost cinematically backed soundscape that comes through with such a robust character that you can't look away.

"Ready For Up" is an absolutely vivacious single and it has the ability to really grow as it plays on, so the song gets fuller, more impactful, and even sort of intense as it plays on but all in a very positive way.

The track does an amazing job of blending color and edginess together without either of those two things being too over the top which I feel is really important because the song comes through with such a beautiful dynamic balance the whole way through.

You can hear this sort of funk influence, contemporary pop tonality, and Soulful vocals that really combine together and create an atmosphere that you simply don't want to leave once you're there.

Hints of southern tonality come through especially in some of the guitar work but, the guitar work across this whole song is varied and all extremely well done.

As you get into the choruses, you do get a thicker country style approach especially in the twang of her vocals and how she approaches that with these semi-drawn-out soulful notes that really give the song attitude in a way.

One of the things I really adore about this track is the simple fact that it's powerful. It has this kind of impact that makes you feel like you can take on anything and I feel like that's part of what this song is really about.

Life throws all kinds of things at you and it's how you deal with them and push through that makes you the person you are.

All of this is part of what gives this song that robust character that it boasts, and Alison really lets her presence shine on this track because you get a piece of her.

I feel like Alison is one of those artists that give pieces of herself in each song that she releases, and I find that very alluring because I think that artist should be doing that in general. They should be writing about something that's drawn from a real place because it makes songs like this so much more authentic when you listen to them.

Not only that, but it also makes the song very relatable because a lot of people can understand where she's coming from with it.

Their aspects about this track that made me feel like the song was written just for me even though I know it wasn't.

What kind of astounded me was all these amazing changes that brought in even jazz influences at times. This was a very progressive type of track that had a great sort of pop and soul coating but also had heart and personality just oozing from every aspect of it so there was more life to it than anything else and underneath all of that, you have these great almost technical progressions and changes that blow you away.

This was really cool and came through impactful, charismatic, powerfully, and with a beautiful aesthetic and full-bodied instrumentation so that there was a lot of layers and textures to soak in.

Upon listening to this track, I sort of had to check out some more from Alison and when I did that, I found a ton of releases starting in 2019 that consists of both albums and singles and each release shows a little bit of a different side to her personality as well as how she does her thing as an artist.

By listening to her full catalog which by the way is super fun, you get more pieces of her, you get a great grasp of her influences as well, and you even get a better understanding of her evolution as an artist.

This is a super fun thing to do especially when you find an artist that you like. Being able to listen to their full back catalog and listen to them progress musically is a wonderful experience and with this artist it was fulfilling.

Definitely dive into this track as soon as you can and check out her other releases because they're all well worth listening to.

See how this affects you.
