An Album from Christin Hyshka Gives Off Massive Personality

A recent album release from Christin Hyshka delivers an outstanding array of songwriting approaches that blend elements of folk, Americana, soul, and even rock all within the spectrum of one record, and as it unfolds, you begin to get attached to the personality behind these songs and this is something that I found to be completely refreshing.

The Rescue album comes through with such a spirited approach that the tracks feel cinematic, and at times alive and breathing in a sense.

There are a lot of layers in these tracks and plenty of surprises around the corners to the point where again, there's not just one genre that this record encompasses.

This is an album that you listen to from beginning to end so that you can soak it in how it was meant to be. Listening to one or two songs from the record may give you a bit of an idea of what you might expect but we'll give you nowhere near the full spectrum of what the album has to offer as a whole.

The guitar work and performances across the entire record are well done. Everything has a bit of soul behind it. Everything's got heart and again, that personality and character start coming through the more you listen to the record.

You can hear these classic and vintage songwriting influences coming through but also updated ones of course while still having little hints of rustic folk in there, loads of that Americana and southern kissed soundscape, and lyrics that you end up paying attention to.

I love that there is this beautiful blend texturally throughout this record. You have acoustic guitars with electric guitars overlaying them, organs, and live drums. It all comes together to create this atmosphere that you end up falling right into.

This is a record that sort of swims around in the air that surrounds you and it's a bit engulfing but it's fun to let that happen.

The record pulled me away from wherever I was and whatever I was doing and put me into this world for a chunk of time.

The vocal performances for all these songs have a very unique approach. Or, I should really say that Christin's vocal style is unique. It's got a great little vibrato at the end of a lot of the melodies and tonally, it balances out the music so well.

This was colorful and charismatic, there was plenty of vibrancy, and again, it's very spirited with tracks that end up sort of sticking with you for hours or even days after the songs have ended and the only way to satiate that is to go and listen to them again.

You can hear plenty of bouts of honesty throughout these songs and that's something else you end up getting attached to and also lending a hand to that robust personality.

All these songs feel sort of lush and very full-bodied. They come through very big with this perfectly balanced sonic drive a lot of the time.

You can tell a lot of these tracks come from someplace real and some of them even serve as chapters in the artist's life but either way, you're getting something authentic, and you can tell when you listen to it.

So, and a lot of ways this is quite a powerful album and again, I'm going to suggest that you listen to this from start to finish so that you can really grab onto everything that it offers.

Like I said before, there are many layers to this record, and it is super fun to peel those back.

Take a deep dive into this album as soon as you can and see how it affects you.
