An Expansive Release from Eunmi Ko + CAMP

A beautiful and experimental new release from Eunmi Ko delivers a variety of contemporary and somewhat personal pieces of music that are heavily based around piano which is Eunmi's performances throughout the record for the most part and this is a company by everything from percussion, and at times even saxophone.

The 12 views on Life release consists of 14 pieces of music and they arrange anywhere from 4 minutes to almost 9 Minutes at times and there's such a wide variety of outside the box approaches and cinematic undertones that give these songs a breath of life that it's very hard to turn away from.

These songs really take you to a whole different place and if you're able to have the time, listening to the entire record is a really in-depth and engulfing experience and I mean that in the best way is possible because you are taking on these sorts of avant-garde journeys through elements of chamber music, theatrical feels, and plenty of experimental tonalities that all come together and create this beautiful atmosphere.

This is a unique release and the album features pieces of music that offer different perspectives on the human condition, and you get a glimpse of that from the very first track.

But really astounds me about this release is not only it's experimental approaches and how it's a gigantic piece of music that is released with almost no boundaries or walls built around it, but the piano work is really just alive and right in your face.

You really don't know what to expect to the point where, by the time you get a few tracks in, you begin to actually expect the unexpected and that to me is very refreshing in a lot of ways.

The record represents taking a trip really reliving some of the highs and lows of life and this is something that comes straight from the artist herself so when you listen to the record you can kind of feel these different sorts of emotional drives that started off as a platform for some of these songs.

There's absolutely nothing cookie cutter about any of this and this is inviting, refreshing, addictive, and are you find yourself surrounded by the music at certain points and you forget where you are.

You get so wrapped up in what the songs have to offer and the different and diverse but still sort of contemporary undertones that you almost need to snap yourself out of it when the songs are over.

So, you can imagine while listening to the full album actually does for you. You get elements of chamber, classical, contemporary, even hints of jazz here and there, improvisational, and so much more just all rolled up into this one massive release and I think that it's something that would appeal to people that look to music to escape.

Just taking the time to swim through this whole album release and see what it does for you. See the places it takes you.

I'm sure it is something that you will enjoy.
