The latest single release from Christine Bauer has a very stripped-down authenticity to it because she's so crystal clear and honest with her lyrics and so passionate with her vocal approach which is most certainly a combination that breeds an intense atmosphere but in a subtle and beautiful way.
"Crying At Night" is a song that has an impactful feel to it because you can just tell by listening that this song came from a very real place and she's letting a lot out at once.
The song must have been cathartic for Christine to release and to write of course. It's something that a lot of people can relate to because the song focuses on a bit of heartbreak. It's about love but then also about the loss of love and being able to sort of navigate and deal with the repercussions and emotional fallout that come with all of that.
The song has this great Americana approach but also a contemporary pop overcoat so it blends those two genres very well and creates something gorgeous and real so you were able to attach yourself to it, understand exactly where she's coming from, and in turn, you end up feeling something from this.
The song is performed with so much heart that it's got a power behind it. And that lets Christine put her presence out there which she does beautifully on this track. As a matter of fact, I think this song speaks volumes for Christine as an artist but also as a songwriter being able to put everything on the table the way that she does with no fears.
That takes guts. And I think Christine has the guts to release this track because it's so personal. Of course, this is what real art is all about. Releasing any form of art that is super truthful and holds very little back in terms of emotion or feeling.
It is something that is done for oneself. And I hope that Christine has led a little bit out and lined her load after releasing and writing the song.
The chorus is amazing. It's got that powerful vibe and again is not really over the top. It's just catchy but meaningful at the same time. So, you have depth to the song, and you have this element of closure which was probably a big part of Christine writing this track. That element comes through strongly.
The guitars are kind of floating through the background and add this flowing and forward-moving feel that lets you sort of drift alongside it as it plays through.
It also has an awesome arrangement that showcases her ability to compose a song that does actually have that forward-moving flow to it, so it feels completely natural.
A lot of us really love music that we can relate to but that also makes it certain that it came from a real emotion and has this authentic backbone to it which Christine completely delivers from beginning to end on this single.
The track also has such a great range of instrumentation on it and again this hint of Americana that's also not overdone but just subtle and blended well in terms of the inspirations and influences she must have to write her music.
You can hear those hints of southern tones in the song. But once again, it also has this great pop feel and by the time the song is over, you feel like you know her a little bit better.
It's almost like you sat down with a friend you haven't seen in a long time and got to hear this little chapter of her life.
You feel a little closer and that's something you don't get often when you hear a track from an artist. You don't always feel closer to the artist. They have to give you something for that to happen and Christine does exactly that.
That's the part that takes the guts as I mentioned earlier.
The entire thing came together with a graceful sound and tonality. It was infectious and sticks with you both emotionally and musically.
Listen to this song when you get a chance and see how it makes you feel in the end because it will affect you in one way or another.
