Hi, I'm Kevin. I played in Boston punk bands in the 1990s, most notably Fun In The Kitchen. During a dark period in my early 20s, I abruptly quit playing in bands, selling or giving away all of my electric guitar gear and exclusively played my old acoustic. In 1999, I moved to NYC to work in theatre as a writer and actor surviving on odd restaurant jobs for years. Drawing heavy inspiration from Bob Dylan , Leonard Cohen, Neil Young, and Johnny Cash I wrote songs as a form of private therapy, never intending to record or perform music again. But during the Covid 19 shutdown I felt this strong desire to begin recording these songs and playing live once things eventually opened back up. In the spring of 2022 I began recording slowly, visiting JS Recording Studio where I was living in Naples, FL for five hours every Friday for a few months. In the summer of 2022 I embarked on a cross-country journey with my wife and two young children, playing where I could and recording at small studios in Nashville, Austin, and Pheonix. My first solo single "You're Still Living in the Ring" was released in May 2023. With more singles and an EP planned for release, I have been playing live and writing non-stop. Drawing inspiration from personal stories told to me by people I've met on my travels and from my own past experiences and emotions, I try to have these songs echo the folk sensibilities of the past while maintaining a modern feel. Thanks for stopping by.
