A new single release from Maria Solena brings on quite a vintage contemporary undertone with beautiful and soft vocals that feel floaty and enticing along with a range of instrumentation that brings to mind classic songs from the '60s and mid 70s as those aesthetic shines through with a heavy hand and a gorgeous approach.
"The Dream" certainly seems like a song that came from some place real within the artist. It expresses so much detail and description throughout the lyrics that you get hooked on it. You end up painting vivid pictures in your mind as the song unfolds and these are the kinds of aspects that make the song so addictive.
This is a full-on orchestrated piece of music that really comes through with the exact vibe of a vintage classic and you can hear tons of those influences shining through as you listen to the song.
To me, this track is like a love letter to those kinds of artists.
You have keys, strings, live drums, and so much more to go along with that beautiful and alluring vocal approach and it all comes together in a wonderful way that sort of whisks you away to a different place.
Even the lyrics have that classic approach, and I absolutely adore this. That entire aesthetic was completely nailed and every aspect of what she was going for came through the way it was meant to.
You have plenty of that jazz undertone and you can tell that Maria has plenty of experience as a jazz vocalist just by listening to this one track alone.
The combination of experience and influences work wonders on this single and again, the entire field is spot on. You even have an acoustic guitar and flute solo that sort of layer on top of each other and it's all done with that old school, vintage, contemporary approach.
This song has a great chorus as well. It's about how when your dreams come true the music can heal you and I think that's an important message that obviously affected Maria and she wants to spread that to others.
It's kind of a beautiful thing when an artist wants to spread such a message of positivity out there because of personal experience.
When those courses kick in, the progression change is and goes from a major to a minor and back to Major notes again and I love the way that feels in the song itself.
This was absolutely brilliant, and I loved the entire approach, aesthetic, and overall soundscape that this created because it's not often that you come across an artist that is able to pull together such a vintage and classic tonality so well with such well thought out, lyrics, tones, sounds and everything else.
Most definitely check out "The Dream" from Maria Solena and see if you can pick up on all of that classic tonality because it really does something special.
