mowie Releases an Experimental and Driving EP

An EP release from mowie delivers a colorful but still somewhat edgy combination of dance-pop, house, synth-pop, and a whole lot more as it blends electronic subgenres seamlessly to create an atmosphere that's both driving and forward-moving but also has a spaciousness in its undertone.

The Silly EP spans four tracks and 33 minutes in length so some of these tracks are almost 10 minutes long and well worth it as well because they do go through these lengthy journeys if you will through a colorful array of synth and key sounds and textures that layer atop each other and really create a robust kind of vibe.

One of the things that you can kind of grasp when listening to this record is that there is a bit of emotional drive behind some of the songs and it feels like they did all come from someplace real almost like these songs serve as a set of chapters in the artist's life in a way.

These tracks go through such a wondrous array of sounds and each one of them builds an atmosphere that's all its own but the whole EP is something that can be listened to from beginning to end easily.

As a matter of fact, this is exactly how I would suggest doing it.

By listening to only one or two tracks you get glimpses of what you may expect but you don't get the full range of what the record has to offer as a whole and that is not something you want to miss.

If you are a fan of electronic music on any level, then one or all of these songs will be something that you definitely get attached to quickly.

The tracks have character, personality, and vivaciousness, and these arrangements are progressive in a way and leave breathing room at certain points, swell, sway, hit climaxes, and more.

This was a big record that has more than meets the eye and boasts several surprises around the corners while blending this kind of old school and new school styles to create something memorable and also gives you little hints of nostalgia at times.

This is something I absolutely adore about the record because it has those elements, and synth sounds along with classic house beats that remind you of old-school electronic music and those little hints of techno in there and bits of synthwave all come together in different parts of the record.

The production is outstanding, and you can even hear it a bit of cinematic backbone at times because there is some spaciousness and experimental sides to this production and approach.

As I mentioned a little earlier, there is a vastness that gives the songs a bigger undertone, and that in combination with the sonic drive makes the record lush and sort of full-bodied.

This is something that stands out to me a bit simply because it's familiar but with new twists and some surprises around the corners.

The energy levels fluctuate and the whole record feels alive and breathing in its own sense.

Everything is completely danceable and comes through with just as much hard-hitting energy as it does loftiness and color.

You can tell this is done by someone who has a knack for layering textures and arranging music so that it has that flow to it, and it also keeps that drive alive as well.

Something like this isn't always easy to capture but it seems like mowie does it naturally.

I would suggest listening to the whole record and doing so with headphones on so you can really soak in everything that's happening in these songs.

This EP was a massive escape and I enjoyed every second of it as it pulled me away from my surroundings and put me in these different places.

Take a listen to this record and see how it affects you.
