Simon Horn Drops a Single with Vintage Tone

A crisp release from Simon Horn delivers a lush and deepening trip-hop style soundscape that beckons chilled vibes and a lust undertone that all managed to come together and create this almost nostalgic feel.

"Nova Daze" definitely captures something classic and almost vintage about it as it captures jazz feels that are incorporated in its veins. You can hear some of the classic influences that helped Simon create the piece and what it was inspired by.

Between the keys, and the drums, this track really can put you in a sort of peaceful place in a way and I really dig that aspect about it because it has a natural and forward-moving flow that you can dip in and out of it anytime.

There is something that makes you very comfortable with this track, and I think that has a lot to do with the warmth it delivers along with some surprises around the corners. Guitars that have wah-wah pedal effect on them, and the drums get more intense during certain sections, and the track has swells and sways throughout it to make it feel alive and breathing in its own way.

The riffs on those keys really deliver certain hooks that stick throughout the track and become a staple of it, and this helps create the atmosphere that the song boasts which is very engulfing but in a great way.

There is a slew of subtle approaches that are combined during this track because it does have a vast sort of undertone that gives it a little bit of an expansive feel, but the overtones are very upfront and those are again, very jazz-oriented but those textures combined between the electronic and natural instrumentation create something special.

There was a lot of attention to detail paid to the creation of this track which you can tell because between the guitars, keys, synths, beats and everything else, there's a great arrangement put together. However, it never loses that sort of character or personality that it begins with in the first place and that might be the most important aspect of the whole thing.

This was a very inviting track and the jazz and funk influences shine through but are never really over the top, so it keeps to that sort of trip-hop, chill tonality.

For the artist, instrumentalist, and producer, and has a beautiful way of blending old and new school approaches so that you have that almost nostalgic and familiar feel, but you also have something a little new as well.

A beautifully woven single that speaks volumes for Simon, "Nova Daze" is the type of track that sticks with you and has a very lush and full-bodied tone but still is very crisp and somewhat subtle and its approach so, it's never over-energized. The energy and dynamic balance are spot on the entire time keeping the vibe proper.

This track should be listened to with headphones on because it's one of the best ways to soak in all the elements that occur throughout the track.

There are great layers and textures that lay atop each other, and again, give this track the atmosphere and aesthetic that it was meant to have.

Dive into this one and let it swim around in the air that surrounds you.

You'll have fun, and it'll put you in a certain mood that will relax you and put a warm smile on your face.
