Sleepless Denver Delivers Pop-Punk with heart

A new release from Sleepless Denver gets quite personal and delivers a pop-punk punch that hits all the sweet spots you would expect from the genre and more with an almost anthemic chorus and heartfelt vocal delivery that all gives off such a lush character that you can't look away.

"Today" it's a beautifully woven punk single and combines such a vibrant color and edginess in terms of the tones throughout the track but it's the sentiment that really grabs at you.

This song is about loss of some type. The end of the relationship and even though you're not exactly sure what the reasoning is it feels like a heavy kind of loss and the song almost serves as an ode to that person's memory.

You can clearly tell that this is genuine as the lyrics and vocals are so authentic and how they are performed and I'm sure that whoever this is about, wherever they may be, they hear this cry out.

To me, this is a beautiful track because it's got so much impactful power behind it and the reason for that is because it's so relatable.

All of us have lost, all of us miss people, and all of us have this feeling of a certain standard of emptiness after a loved one is no longer here for whatever reason that may be however, not all of us can articulate that into words of music the way that these guys do.

The song gives off a great emotional drive and hits hard wherever it needs to with such vigor and I think that that comes from not only the band being able to tightly put together a catchy and memorable track, but also because they all know where this song is coming from as a band so I feel like all the players put in their heart and that is a big part of what shapes the songs personality.

To me, this track was massive, and it had a certain vastness in its underbelly which is something that gives it a cinematic backbone at times but it's that energy that everyone portrays on the track that gets me.

It's almost like each player is feeding off the other and that's where this power comes from so it's very memorable and if you're the type of person to let it, it will indeed cause certain memories of your own to pop into your head because it's so relatable.

This is something you don't get often in a lot of different kinds of music so I'm incredibly happy to hear it with such an outstanding pop-punk approach because it shows a certain maturity and songwriting but that's already a given when you listen to these guys because it's completely built off of amazing musicianship and talent in terms of all the instrumentation.

I also enjoy how certain little influences peek through during the track but all in all, this is something that's got heart, passion, love, and a deeper meaning that was probably cathartic for certain members of the band to get off their chest.

Personally, I think we need more music like this. Songs that make you think and feel something are really important in any genre, especially pop-punk and alternative rock.

This song gets a straight-up 9 out of 10 for every reason you can think of from performance, arrangement, composition, delivery, and meaning.

The song serves a purpose and if I were you, I'd listen to this track and see how it affects you.
